Start A Fire

Don't let the title fool you nothing was really set on fire except my soul. Most of you know that have read my blog that I'm kind of scatterbrained and my blog posts never follow a logical pattern lol. But, that's just how I put my thoughts into words when I'm writing. Anyways back to the regularly scheduled program haha.
So, I grew up with a kid who I lost contact with after my mom died. Although I only saw him when we were at church camp or when his dad happened to be at my church I'd consider him one of my good childhood friends. He was my first crush as a kid. The memories I have with this kid just make me smile. Why am I talking about this random person you ask? Well, he came back into my life at the most perfect time. When people say in God's timing they're not kidding because this was totally a God thing that I ended up talking to him on facebook that Sunday night. I was just really down and discouraged that day, I was really starting to question God's love for me. But that night God showed me the love he has for me by bringing along this special friend who would continue to encourage me over these weeks, especially when I'm sure he unknowingly encouraged me at just the right time.
I really wasn't surprised when his uncle had told me that he was going to school to be a preacher because he was always that loud kid at church camp :) Well, that's not the only reason obviously he just has that personality. The caring, deep down, personality that is perfect for a person who is meant to spread God's word through preaching. I've had the chance to listen to a couple of his sermons and the renounced fire that started in my soul for God was just AMAZING!
I was stuck in a rut with my spiritual life and God brought along that person to help me get out of it. I can't praise God enough for all he does for me. It feels so fantastic to have this fire being kindled with His word and with His people. It's a feeling that I can't even explain it's just that amazing. Are God is great!

                                                                    "Start A Fire"
                                                                        Unspoken
This world can be cold and bitter
Feels like we're in the dead of winter
Waiting on something better
But am I really gonna hide forever?

Over and over again
hear Your voice in my head
Let Your light shine, let Your light shine for all to see

[Chorus:]
Start a fire in my soul
Fan the flame and make it grow
So there’s no doubt or denying
Let it burn so brightly
That everyone around can see
That it’s You, that it’s You that we need
Start a fire in me

You only need a spark to start a whole blaze
It only takes a little faith
Let it start right here in this city
So these old walls will never be the same

Over and over again
I hear Your voice in my head
They need to know
I need to go
Spirit won't You fall on my heart now

[Chorus:]
Start a fire in my soul
Fan the flame and make it grow
So there’s no doubt or denying
Let it burn so brightly
That everyone around can see
That it’s You, that it’s You that we need
Start a fire in me

[Bridge:]
You are the fire You are the flame
You are the light on the darkest day
We have the hope we bear Your name
We carry the news that You have come to save
Only You can save

[Chorus:]
Start a fire in my soul
Fan the flame and make it grow
So there’s no doubt or denying
Let it burn so brightly
That everyone around can see
That it’s You, that it’s You that we need

Just some fun pictures of Amy, and some of the fun times we've had with people visiting :) Ok so a few turned into a lot lol!

These are from Amy's birthday party back in March. We had tons of fun with her friends :)

These are pictures from Easter this year, we really had a blast spending it with our Michigan family :)

These gems are from last weekend when the boys were home. Cam brought home some of his college friends and we had a blast hanging out at the dunes on Saturday, but boy was I sore the next day lol.

Amy just fell in LOVE with Tofig at Christmas time when he spent time with our family.

These are just a few pictures from my graduation night :)
